Before booking driveway sealing, find any records of the previous coating and decide where you'll park during the work. Both can affect the appointment more than your choice of finish.
Identify What Is Already on the Concrete
Tell the contractor when the driveway was last sealed, if known, and whether you have the product name or invoice. Share photos of peeling, white patches, shiny areas, cracks, and worn traffic lanes. An old coating may change the preparation required or make a proposed product unsuitable.
Do not buy a sealer first and assume it can simply be applied. Surface condition and compatibility come before colour or gloss. Sealing also doesn’t repair movement, major cracks, or deteriorating concrete.
Plan Access Around the Whole Job
Move vehicles, bins, planters, and portable equipment before the agreed arrival time. Discuss any object too heavy to move safely. Let everyone using the driveway know that foot traffic and vehicle traffic may have different return times.
Weather can change the work window. The relevant product instructions and actual conditions determine when the surface is ready, so avoid scheduling a delivery or gathering around a guessed cure time.
